Dr. Shivani Desai is a Clinical Pharmacist with wide experience in Clinical Research along with Academic experience. Currently she is working at Serum Institute of India Pvt. Ltd. in the Department of Clinical Research and handling various Vaccine studies.
She is actively involved in Type 1 Diabetes research, along with which she is responsible for several significant activities such as the publication of the study results of vaccine studies, preparation and presentation of study data to regulators, planning future preclinical and clinical studies for vaccines, review of the final report for vaccine studies, etc. Along with her current clinical research profile at Serum Institute of India Pvt. Ltd., she is also involved in Stem Cell research.
She has been working on various other pre-clinical and clinical projects such as stem cell application in Type 1 Diabetes and Diabetic complication, clinical evaluation of possible causes and complications of Type 1 Diabetes, and pre-clinical study on application of stem cells in pancreatic transplantation in Type 1 Diabetes.
Before joining Serum Institute, Dr. Desai has worked as an academician at Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, as Medical Writer at Docplexus, as Research Associate at KEM Hospital and Research Center, and as Head (Research) at 7 Orange Hospital, Pune.
She is contributing to the field of science by presenting her scientific data at various conferences and publishing her high-impact research papers in national and international journals indexed in Scopus, PubMed, and Web of Science.
